Robust Subsynchronous Damping Control of PMSG-Based Wind Farm

This paper provides an H∞ robust control strategy for a permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG)-based wind farm to realize subsynchronous resonance suppression (SSR) subject uncertain system distortions and parameter perturbation. Firstly, eighth-order state space mathematical model of PMSG-based is established, including the grid-side converter (GSC), GSC controller, phase-locked loop (PLL) model. Secondly, SSR characteristics are analyzed through eigenvalue analysis. Thirdly, damping controller designed based on analysis SSR. Finally, validated with case studies farms. The results show that can increase stability systems restrain
